    Description

minton pink cockatrice berry bowl. Condition is "Used".
    ***Final Sale***
RARE Very Difficult to find this particular Minton Cockatrice piece. Anyone out there that loves this Minton pattern knows just how difficult it is to find Antique Original pieces in Great condition that have No Repairs
    c1873 to 1912
MINTONS Standard print mark with crown added. England added from 1891. Made in England appears from c1902.
Based on the “Minton print mark” I believe this particular piece was made between c1873 and c1890 as the print mark does not read “England” Or “Made in England”
    Remarkably Beautiful Condition
Because of its age the color was either not as vibrant or the Pink has changed w/time.
The color appears to be a less vibrant shade of pink. The other colors on the sides seem to be brighter, not as bright as a piece from the 1950’s
However, the three places with colorful flowers and leaves is clearly beautiful, not faded or worn out. There is no fading at all of the artwork on this piece.
The most noticeable signs of age are thankfully on the bottom/underside of this beautiful Berry Bowl that rests on a table.
There is crazing Only on the bottom/underside as well as one very small chip at the circular base bottom of bowl. It looks like a grey smudge on the inside circular rim just above the Crown print mark a little to the right of the top of the Crown. See pictures.
In No Way does this small chip effect the way it rests on a table or tray.
I would not have noticed it if I hadn’t taken pictures. There are a few places that appear to be sprinkled with “pepper looking” spots pictured. Some of the tiny spots are raised Porcelain meaning you can feel it but not remove the spots. However, most of the tiny spots actually seem to be part of the porcelain as the tiny spots are under the shiny glaze.
That is the best description I can give.
Bone China is smooth in comparison to this particular Porcelain piece.
There is No crazing inside or the underside of the 2nd piece strainer that rests on top of the bowl. There is also no crazing on the inside of the bowl.
This is such a beautifully unique piece of history and craftsmanship.
Please feel free to message me via eBay if you have any questions at all, would like more pictures or would like to make an offer.
    I will consider all offers.
