1977 Bisque Head France, Seeley Body 1975 Glass Eyes? Handpainted Artists Signed. This is a previously owned the estate item.
Provenance: the decedent was 93 years old female who was an avid collector of various things. In particular, she had an affinity for dolls. This was one of her collections. The executor of the estate did not know when or where this doll was acquired.
During examination and photographic process I noted that the doll head was numbered 71 out of 140. The doll had was manufactured in 1977 and is stamped Eunice France #247. Further examination revealed that the artist, Rita Hardwood, signed this item with handdrawn details. Also, it appears that the doll has brown glass eyes. The red hair is stamped on the underside, made in Japan, 100% acrylic.
The body of the doll which is composite material is signed Vernon Seeley 1975. There was minor discoloration about the right shoulder joint. The limbs and the head is strung tightly. Although I did attempt to remove most of the dust, additional cleaning may be necessary.
